November is traditionally the kick-off to the holiday season. Around here, it’s the return of some popular annual events. However, there is always something going on. Be sure to check out the full Calendar of Events for the month.
November 14th ~ If you haven’t gotten a belly full of salty oysters yet this season, get your ticket now for the annual Pamlico Tar River Foundation Oyster Roast. It is one of THE events of the season, attracting people from all over eastern NC. Not an oyster fan? There is chili, too! Silent auction, music from Brickhouse, and oysters! Sounds like a fun event, doesn’t it? Visit www.PTRF.org for tickets and information or call 252.946.7211.
November 14th ~ The trails at Goose Creek are beautiful year-round, but especially in the fall. Lace up your running shoes and conquer the 10 mile or 5 mile course. The scenery is fantastic, and you may even see some wildlife! Goose Creek State Park is open 364 days a year, so come out and explore the park on the 14th or any other day. www.GooseCreekTrailRaces.com
The stage at the Turnage Theater will feature several performances this month. The US Air Force Heritage of America Band will present Heritage Brass, a pioneering symphonic brass ensemble, on November 7th. This event is FREE, but you need tickets to attend. Easy Street Apothecary (November 14th) and Jacob Johnson (November 21st) round out the performances for the month. Celebrate the arts in November with Arts of the Pamlico. Call 252.946.2504 or visit www.ArtsofthePamlico.org for information on these and other upcoming arts events.
