I know that the entire cruising community will be saddened by the news of Louise Carlson's passing below. For many years now, I always looked forward to my annual visit to the Grand Mariner. Louise and I always got along very well, and she often took more than my share of time to bring me up to speed on what had been happening along the waters of Dog River. I will miss Louise very much, and know that many cruisers will join with me. Farewell, Louise; May the road rise to meet you, may the wind always be at your back, and may God hold you in the palm of his hand!

I regret to inform you and the cruising community that Louise Carlson the owner and operator of The Grand Mariner Marina in Mobile has passed away. All who have cruised the Great loop or Mobile Bay will know of Louise and her friendly acceptance of cruisers who needed a spot to tie up or a great meal at the Mariner Restaurant over the dock store. We dined there last night and many spoke of Louise and her long tenure as owner of the Grand Mariner Marina.
