Blackburn Bridge Repairs Completed! GICW Statute Mile 63, Venice, FL


The Blackburn Swing Bridge, with a closed vertical clearance of 9ft, crosses the Gulf Waterway north of Venice and connects Casey Key with Blackburn Point. [See LNM below for further details.] 

And this note today from Duane Ising:

11/28 I just called ICE with the number published here and was told that Blackburn Bridge in now fully operational. We intend to pass through the bridge on Tue 29 Nov 2016, so that is great news for us.

And here is the original 7th District Local Notice which yours truly missed!

FLORIDA – GULF INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY – CHARLOTTE HARBOR – TAMPA BAY – BLACKBURN POINT BRIDGE: Bridge Repairs.
The Coast Guard has been advised the Blackburn Point Bridge, across the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Osprey, Florida has been damaged and emergency repairs are being conducted from October 25, 2016 through an approximate date of November 30, 2016. During that time the bridge has been place on a once every two [10/29 confirmed as every four] hours schedule.
