Lat/Lon: 36 10.854 North/076 16.518 West
Location: lies near the intersection of Deep Creek and Little River; Deep Creek pierces the western shores of Little River, opposite Trueblood Point
Minimum Depth: 5 feet
Swing Room: sufficient room for vessels as large as 36 feet
Foul Weather Shelter: Fair, partially open to northern, eastern and northeastern winds

Sutton Creek/Perquimans River Anchorage
Lat/Lon: 36 10.186 North/076 23.546 West
Location: Sutton Creek cuts into the northeastern banks of the Perquimans River, northwest of charted White Hat Landing
Minimum Depth: 4 to 5 feet
Special Note: favor eastern banks at the southern entrance to Sutton Creek, and drop the hook on the wider, southerly portion of this stream before it begins to narrow
Swing Room: sufficient room for vessels as large as 38 feet
Foul Weather Shelter: Good, but open to strong southerly winds

Racoon Creek/Perquimans River Anchorage
Lat/Lon: 36 11.308 North/076 27.639 West
Location: anchorage lies on the northern waters of Raccoon Creek, west of Crows Point and east of Hertford
Minimum Depth: 5 feet
Special Note: Your vessel must be able to clear a 33-foot fixed bridge to access this anchorage
Swing Room: sufficient room for vessels as large as 40 feet
Foul Weather Shelter: Fair to poor, open to northern, northeastern and northwestern winds

Yeopim Creek/Yeopim River Anchorage
Lat/Lon: 36 05.564 North/076 25.080 West
Location: lies north of Abemarle Plantation Marina, and south of the twin, charted 4-foot soundings
Minimum Depth: 4 1/2 feet
Swing Room: sufficient room for vessels as large as 40 feet
Foul Weather Shelter: Very good, unless strong southern winds are the offing

Middleton Creek/Yeopim River Anchorage
Lat/Lon: 36 05.101 North/076 29.435 West
Location: found on the waters of Middleton Creek just north of a split in this stream’ Middleton Creek flows generally south from the western tip of Yeopim River
Minimum Depth: 5 feet if and only if you can keep to the unmarked channel
Special Note: In spite of it great natural beauty, this anchorage is strictly NOT reommended for vessel drawing more than 4 feet
Swing Room: sufficient room for vessels as large as 36 feet
Foul Weather Shelter: Excellent, a wonderful foul weather hidey hole

Pembroke Creek/Edenton Downstream Anchorage

Location: on the waters of Pembroke Creek west and north of marker #4
Minimum Depth: 4 1/2 feet
Special Note: this anchorage is often crowded with local craft moored to buoys
Swing Room: sufficient room for vessels as large as 40 feet

Location: located on the upstream waters of Pembroke Creek, between the entrance to Edenton Marina and the charted 5-foot fixed bridge
Minimum Depth: 6 1/2 feet
Swing Room: sufficient room for vessels as large as 34 feet
Special Note: swinging room is tight in this anchorage
Foul Weather Shelter: Excellent, a good haven during foul weather

Alligator River/Deep Point Anchorage

Location: Keel Creek lies north, northwest of Chowan River’s marker #7
Minimum Depth: 5 feet
Special Note: the entrance to Keel Creek is surrounded by numerous snags and stakes; entry after dark or in low light conditions is not recommended; also, this anchorage is not recommended for vessels drawing more than 3 1/2 feet
Swing Room: sufficient room for vessels as large as 36 feet

Location: anchorage will be discovered on the channel which passes north of the island that bisects Roanoke River, upstream of Plymouth
Special Note: chemical smells from a nearby paper mill can be a real problem in this anchorage
Minimum Depth: 6 feet
Swing Room: sufficient room for vessels as large as 34 feet

Location: lies on the centerline of Middle River, southwest of the small, charted island which bisects this stream
Special Note: your vessel must be able to clear a 16-foot fixed bridge, or you must go far out of your way, and traverse the shoal and snag-prone intersection of southwesterly Middle River and Roanoke River, in order to use this anchorage
Minimum Depth: 7 feet
Swing Room: sufficient room for vessels as large as 36 feet
Foul Weather Shelter: Excellent shelter from foul weather

Minimum Depth: 5 feet, if and only if you anchor well north and northwest of the cove’s southern banks

Foul Weather Shelter: Very good, though particularly strong northern winds might be a problem
