Range E of the Kings Bay Entrance channel in Cumberland Sound becomes part of the Waterway at statute mile 707, requiring extra care in the vicinity of dredge equipment working in the Waterway.
GEORGIA AND FLORIDA – FLORIDA – CUMBERLAND SOUND – FERNANDINA HARBOR TO KINGS BAY – ST MARYS ENTRANCE:
Maintenance Dredging of Kings Bay Entrance Channel.
Manson Construction Co. will commence mobilization 06 January 2017 and dredging will start approximately 15 January 2017 in the Kings Bay Entrance Channel Cut-1N through Range-E. Dredging operations to be conducted 7 days per week, 24 hours per day until approximately 15 April 2017. Dredges BAYPORT and NEWPORT will monitor VHF Frequency(s) 13, 16, and 66. Other vessels: JOHN M, AGGIE, 180′ x 50′ ABS Spud Barge, MANSON 39 Booster Pump Barge, Anchor Barge and CHRISTI C Tug Boat. Mariners are advised while transiting the dredging areas reduce speed and exercise caution in the vicinity of the dredges and other floating equipment.
