[EXPIRED] Dredging Underway in Ponce de Leon Inlet, near AICW Statute Mile 840-843
Ponce de Leon Inlet (the “Ponce”, as it is known to all the locals) intersects the Waterway at Statute Mile 839.5, with a second southerly intersection near St. M. 843. This dredging project is in the Inlet itself, not the Waterway. For a posting on shoaling in the Inlet, go to /?p=137567
FLORIDA – TOLOMATO RIVER TO PALM SHORES – PONCE DE LEON INLET: ACOE Dredge Operations
The ACOE Jacksonville District has commenced dredge operations in Ponce De Leon Inlet on May 5, 2015. Operations will run from 6:00am to 6:00pm with Dredge MURDEN. The approximate completion date is 11 July 2015. Beginning July,operations will be conducted 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. The dredge will monitor VHF-FM channels 13 & 16. Mariners are advised to transit the area with caution and reduce speed in the vicinity of the dredge.
