South Edisto River departs the Waterway at statute mile 511 and flows southeast to the Atlantic. This dredging will be good news for boaters utilizing popular Edisto Marina on Big Bay Creek.
SOUTH CAROLINA – ST. HELENA SOUND – SOUTH EDISTO RIVER: Dredge Operations.
Marinex Construction will commence dredging operations in the vicinity of the South Edisto River approximately December 28, 2016. The work area will extend from South Edisto River Daybeacon 6 (LLNR 3940) South Edisto River Approach Buoy 1 (LLNR 3925). The dredge SAVANNAH will continue on a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week basis until approximately May 10, 2017. Mariners are urged to use caution while transiting the area. For on-scene communications, contact the dredge SAVANNAH on VHF-FM channels 13 & 16. Contact Marinex Construction for more details (843) 722-9083.
