Forbes Bay Anchorage – Navigational Detail

As you begin to enter Forbes Bay, use your binoculars to pick out the charted pilings occupying the middle of the bay’s mouth. Locals have termed these pilings as “Bird
Island.” When you see all the sea gulls perched here, you won’t have to ask the origin of this moniker.
Pass either to the northwest or southeast of these obstructions. After leaving the piles behind, cruise back to the mid-width. Drop the hook before approaching to within 150 yards of the southwestern shoreline.
