Holiday Island/Chowan River Anchorage – Navigational Detail

The marked Chowan River channel passes west of Holiday Island, but the eastern arm holds 8 to 10 feet on its midwidth. Take care to avoid the correctly charted pilings abutting the eastern banks behind Holiday Island. To rejoin the main channel, simply avoid Holiday Island’s northern tip and cruise west to a point some 200 yards northeast of marker #13.
