With a fixed vertical clearance of 65ft, Holden Beach Bridge crosses the Waterway at Statute Mile 323, west of flashing daybeacon #51. If you need more than 55ft air draft, then communicating with the inspection team will be a good idea.
NC – INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY – HOLDEN BEACH – NC 130 BRIDGE – REDUCED CLEARANCE
An engineering consultant, on behalf of North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), will be performing an inspection at the NC 130 Bridge across the Intracoastal Waterway, mile 323.7, in Holden Beach, NC. The inspection will be performed Monday, October 16, 2017, from 9 a.m. to Noon. The inspection will require a movable bridge inspection vehicle to use their boom under the bridge reducing the vertical clearance by approximately 10 feet, mostly outside the navigable channel. The truck will have line of site of the waterway and can move if required. The inspection team can be reached at (352) 871-5707. Mariners should use extreme caution when transiting the area.
