[EXPIRED] LNM: Night-time Repairs, 10/9 -11/23, Surf City Swing Bridge, AICW Statute Mile 260.7, Surf City, NC
With a closed vertical clearance of 12ft, the 60 year old Surf City Swing Bridge, scheduled to be replaced by another high-rise fixed bridge by 2020, crosses the Waterway at mile 260.7. This nighttime maintenance has been extended to 11/23.
NC – ATLANTIC INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY – S.R. 50/SURF CITY BRIDGE – REPAIRS
The North Carolina Department of Transportation Bridge Maintenance, will be conducting repairs at the S.R. 50 (Surf City) Bridge across the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, mile 260.7, at Surf City, NC. The repairs will be conducted between October 9, 2017, and November 10, 2017; Maintenance date has been extended to November 23, 2017. from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. To facilitate the repairs, a 84′ work boat will be on site. Personnel, equipment and vessel will relocate from the moveable span and navigable channel, upon request with a 15 minute advanced notice. The work boat may be reached on VHF-FM channel 13.
