With a fixed vertical clearance of 65ft, Ocean Isle Bridge crosses the ICW at Statute Mile 334, west of unlighted daybeacon #91. If you need more than 55ft air draft, then communicating with the inspection team will be a good idea.
NC – INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY – OCEAN ISLE BEACH – NC 904 BRIDGE – REDUCED CLEARANCE
An engineering consultant, on behalf of North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), will be performing an inspection at the NC 904 Bridge across the Intracoastal Waterway, mile 333.7, in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. The inspection will be performed Thursday, October 19, 2017, from 9 a.m. to Noon. The inspection will require a movable bridge inspection vehicle to use their boom under the bridge reducing the vertical clearance by approximately 10 feet, mostly outside the navigable channel.
