Looking for Marina Near Wilmington, NC
Posted by admin | Posted on 06-11-2008
This is our first year to travel by boat up the east coast. We have friends that live in Fayetteville NC. We are looking for a Marina around Carolina Beach, Wrightsville Beach or Wilmington NC. Our boat is a 41 foot sailboat, Her beam is 14 foot and her draft is 5’4". We are hoping to stay at the marina for one month. We will be staying on our boat. Also with being retired we a looking for very reasonable rates.

Hi Tom and Deb,
I suggest Wilmington Marine Center on the Cape? Fear River. It is a surge free hurricane hole a couple miles before? Wilmington at Daymark 59.?? My boat is there now.? I am paying? $400/month plus metered electric. I see a couple of empty slips but call? Chris (dockmaster) at 910 395 5055.?

I second Alan Lloyd’s recommendation. We’ve stayed at the Wilmington Marine Center twice, and the folks there are super. If you have BoatUS, they’re $1.00/ft and metered electric, which I think is very reasonable on the east coast. It’s a modern facility with floating docks, too. You’ll need to rent a car; it’s out of town too far to walk. Make advance reservations as their primary business market is not transients. Talk to Debra (office) or Chris (Dockmaster); they’ll take care of you.
