I live in a condo next to the marina and have a boat there. The marina is still mostly closed. The gas dock is fully operational, and a transient boat can dock on the G-dock across from the gas pumps for a few hours to visit the stores or restaurants. There is currently no overnight dockage. In fact, most boat owners have been told to remove their boats from the marina while repairs are underway. Of course, glover bight where the marina is located is a very protected and nice anchorage. It is anywhere from 12-3 feet deep depending on where you are in the bight. The bottom is mostly mud, so setting is ok, but not fantastic. Still, with it's protection, you don't need a really hard set. I'll update when the Marina is fully back in operation
Tarpon Point is one of our favorite marinas for many reasons. The location is beautiful and protected. Captains Candy and Ron in the Harbour Master’s office are friendly. There are two very good restaurants–Marker 92 in The Westin and Pincher’s–in the marina village. The shower facilities are very nice. And, the marina is immaculate.
Our favorite amenity is the recreation center–about a 4-minute walk–with two beautiful swimming pools! There is also a workout room and beautiful locker rooms with showers.
New this year: Marina Village Trading Co. which is a gourmet food store. Dee has a great selection for provisioning in style. And, Pincher’s restaurant has a fresh fish market!
We will continue to return to Tarpon Point when cruising SW Florida waters.
Overall, a very nice marina. There are tons of rules which mostly go unenforced. We used the hotel pool because it was closest. The pool for the marina was a goodly walk. We also ate at the hotel (good). One issue is there is no laundry and the bathroom/ showers may be a long walk, but would stay again. They did not say anything about Boat/US disount, but then I did not ask. The small deli is now closed so it is Publix 3.1 miles by bicycle.

In Cape Coral, Florida a couple of miles up the Caloosahatchee River off the ICW is Tarpon Point Marina. We found this new, top rate marina convenient with shopping and a few restaurants on sight (Marker 92 was our choice) and for first time visitors who are BoatUS members the price is $1.50 per foot for the first night vs. their normal $2.00. The rate includes electric, water and a free pump out and a coupon for a free bottle of wine if you dine at Marker 92. Now that’s a good deal.

Cruising News: We just spent the night at the Tarpon Point Marina in Coral Gables, at the beginning of the Okechobee crossing from west to east. This is a first class marina with a professional staff and full ameneties. The approach to this marina is 8\’ plus at MLW, which is important to us as we draw 6\’ which excludes us from a number of marina\’s on the ICW on the west coast of Florida. There is also a great anchorage just outside the marina with near 360 protection and room for at least a dozen vessels.
