[EXPIRED] Jay-Jay/NASA Railway Bridge Reported under Repair Closures for 2 Weeks, AICW Statute Mile 876.5, 10/13, 2017
Our thanks to Dennis Fitzgerald for this confirmed report of these closures. Jay-Jay/NASA Railway bridge is just north of Titusville, FL. These closures will be a major impediment to migrating cruisers.
This bridge(normally open) is closed to vessel traffic daily from 8am till noon and 1pm till 5 daily for at least 2 weeks, for repairs.

FLORIDA – ATLANTIC INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY – TOLOMATO RIVER TO PALM SHORES – INDIAN RIVER – NASA RAILROAD BRIDGE: Temporary Deviation for Bridge Repairs
The Coast Guard has approved an extension to the Temporary Deviation to allow the NASA Railroad Bridge “Jay Jay” at mile 876.6 across the AICW to remain closed to navigation for repairs from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and then 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. daily from August 14, 2017 until 4:00 p.m. October 10, 2017. The bridge will open for navigation traffic from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily and then operate as normal from 4:00 p.m. until 7:59 a.m.. The Bridge will maintain normal operations on weekends.
