[EXPIRED] LNM: Offshore Obstruction, SSE of Oregon Inlet, NC Coast, 3/22/2017

NC – SEACOAST – CURRITUCK BEACH TO WIMBLE SHOALS – HAZARD TO NAVIGATION – OBSTRUCTION
During routine trawling operations NOAA Research Vessel Henry B. Bigelow encountered an obstruction on the seafloor approx. 7.5nm SSE of Oregon Inlet, NC in approximate position 35-43.117N, 075-24.363W. A trawl net is snagged on the obstruction. The net is partially submerged and presents an entanglement hazard and is marked with a single poly-ball float and anchor. NOAA is arranging recovery of the net.
