[EXPIRED] Socastee Swing Bridge on Special Opening Regs, AICW Statute Mile 371, 7/20/2016
With a closed vertical clearance of 11ft, Socastee Swing Bridge normally opens On Demand, but due to maintenance restrictions, will open only at the top of the hour from 7 AM to 7 PM until August 13.

SOCASTEE SWING BRIDGE: Bridge Repairs/Temporary Regulation Change.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation is conducting repairs to the Socastee Swing Bridge in Myrtle Beach, SC (Mile Marker 371 on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway). The bridge will open on the top of each hour from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and remain open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Maintenance will be ongoing through August 12, 2016. Mariners are urged to plan transits accordingly to avoid unnecessary disruptions.

Oh, great. They should have torn down that bridge when they built the high rise bridge. It’s just an obstruction to ICW traffic.
