FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

NEW BERN GRAND MARINA YACHT CLUB WAS SAFE HARBOR TO NEARLY 230 BOATS
New Bern, NC (October 10, 2016) – ALL IS WELL AT THE NEW BERN GRAND MARINA! For over 30 years, the New Bern Grand Marina Yacht Club has been blessed and fortunate in not experiencing any major damage during severe weather and this year was no different. This past week the marina served as a safe harbor to nearly 230 boats during hurricane Matthew.

“The marina is known as a deep water year-round marina, but when severe weather conditions exist, our occupancy rates have historically jumped. However, this year was much different. At one point, we had completely run out of large slips and had only three 40’ slips left to rent. The marina was nearly 100% occupied which meant that Matthew was a storm to be respected. The wave attenuator along with the fact that the marina offers floating docks aided in the safety and protection for the marina’s live-aboard community and nearly 230 boats; along with the preservation of the marina as a whole. When you see the damage that Matthew ravaged throughout the entire east coast, we were fortunate in that we experienced zero damage, but more importantly, that the tenants and guests felt safe.” states Millissa True, on-site consultant.

The New Bern Grand Marina Yacht Club has been referred to as the “Jewel of historic New Bern” and has been pictured and featured in many local and state and regional publications. Walking distance and just minutes from New Bern’s historic district, a host of quaint shops and boutiques, The NC History Center and Tryon Palace, The Birthplace of Pepsi & Old Fashioned Soda Fountain and Store, fine and casual dining, along with several parks, walking trails, trolley rides and ghost tours; the marina claims title to simply one of the best destination marinas in eastern North Carolina. A limited number of slips are available for purchase along with a unique slip rental program which make living the lifestyle you’ve been dreaming of a real possibility. Services include WiFi service, HD cable with over 150 HD channels, valet baggage service, dine-in service, secure marina cam, pool and fitness center, yacht club facilities, hotel, dining and merchant loyalty discounts.
