New Six Month Winter Dockage Special at City Marina of Charleston, AICW Statute Mile 469

Posted by Larry | Posted on 08-21-2012

Having spent the last five years as a “full-time cruiser” at Charleston City Marina, A SALTY SOUTHEAST CRUISERS’ NET SPONSOR, I am naturally biased in its favor. That being said, City Marina’s four month winter dockage has been so popular, they have decided to add a six month special. Come on down, Charleston will be glad to be your winter home!

The “Plan A”, 12/1 to 3/31, four month winter special is $17 per foot plus monthly power rates. The new “Plan B”, 11/1 to 4/30, six month winter special is $18 per foot plus monthly power rates.
Both plans require pre-payment by check or cash and deposits are recommended.
Further discounts are available for referring another customer.

In regards to Captain Bob’s comment below, the same regulation he quotes applies to EVERY marina in coastal South Carolina, AND you have to stay at least 181 days for the tax assessment to begin! Only a few years ago, the state of South Carolina had changed the grace period during which a vessel could be located in South Carolina coastal waters, before it was subject to property taxes, to only 90 days. Virtually every marina owner in the state, and many county governments, went to bat for boat owners, and eventually got the grace period changed back to 180 days in all SC coastal counties. No promises for inland counties!

Stay 180 Days or more at the Charleston City Marina
and you will be getting a Tax Bill from The County Auditors office. They come down and take pictures of your boat!
