[EXPIRED] Onslow Beach Bridge Repairs, 7/22-8/13, 2015 , AICW Statute Mile 241
With a 12ft closed vertical clearance, Onslow Beach Bridge crosses the Waterway at Statute Mile 241, northeast of flashing daybeacon #64. NOTE THE REDUCTION OF HORIZONTAL CLEARANCE TO 15FT.
NC – ATLANTIC INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY – ONSLOW BEACH BRIDGE REPAIRS
Mariners are advised to take caution and proceed slowly when approaching the Onslow Beach Bridge on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, in Onslow Beach, NC. To help facilitate repair of the bridge fender system, on July 22, 2015 through August 13, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., a barge will be placed on the Atlantic Intracostal Watrerway reducing the available horizontal clearance in the navigable channel from 80 feet to 15 feet. A 30 minute advance notice is required to remove the barge from the channel for vessels requiring greater than 15 feet horizontal clearance to safely navigate through the bridge. The onsite work supervisor and bridge tender can be contacted on VHF-FM channel 13 to arrange removal of the barge from the channel. Mariners are urged to transit the area with caution at slow no wake speeds. Chart 11542 LNM 29/15
