Located in Factory Creek just east of Ladys Island Bridge , Ladys Island Marina has been undergoing a slow and uncertain transition for the last several years. At one time, the owners could not make up their minds whether to keep this place a marina, or turn it into boat-a-miniums. Looks like, at least for the moment, they have opted for the marina route, with obvious good results, as reported by Capt. Jarman.
Anchored close to Ladys Island Marina next am engine overheated so dinked over Marina talked to Dockmaster Ted Alcorn who started the ball rolling with getting me into a slip with the help of Ernie his assistant and talking with mechanic Jim Dehart. Into the fourth week of repairs to a cracked cylinder head, the staff left a lasting impression of people pulling together to help and making a bad moment into good memories . Ted and his wife Shari are seasoned sailors and know how to make your journey a good one.
