Raccoon Creek/Perquimans River Anchorage – Navigational Review
Posted by Claiborne | Posted on 07-20-2012
Please remember that minimum 5-foot depths can only be held on the approach to Raccoon Creek if you confine your explorations to the northern half of the waters cutting south to the low-level bridge. Try anchoring on the centerline, near the “5” foot sounding indicated on chart 12205. Don’t approach either shoreline (except by dinghy), and don’t try this if fresh winds are wafting from the north.
