      With a closed vertical clearance of 14ft, the Alfred Cunningham Bridge connects New Bern and James City crossing the intersection of the Trent and Neuse Rivers.

      NC – NEUSE RIVER AND UPPER PART OF BAY RIVER – BRIDGE RESTRICTION
      Mariners are advised that openings of the U.S. 70 (Alfred C. Cunningham) Bridge over Trent River, mile 0.0, at New Bern, NC will be reduced due to the 2015 New Bern Mumfest. The drawbridge is allowed to open every two hours, on the hour, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on October 10, 2015 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 11, 2015. At all other times, the drawbridge will operate in accordance with the operating regulation in 33 CFR 117.843(a). The vertical clearance above mean high water in the closed-to-navigation position is 14 feet. Vessels able to pass through the bridge in the closed-to-navigation position may do so at anytime. Mariners should approach the drawbridge with caution.
