    • [EXPIRED] Safety Zone, Charleston Harbor, March 28, near AICW Statute Mile 465

Heightened world tensions are causing increased safety precautions at large public events, such as the famous Cooper River Bridge Run involving over 20,000 runners. This imposed safety zone will not affect Waterway traffic, but will affect boaters wanting to navigate the Cooper or the Wando Rivers. However, USCG Charleston confirms that traffic from the Waterway south of the bridge into or out either the Maritime Center or Charleston Harbor Marina will be allowed. If you plan an entrance or exit from either marina, it would be wise to contact the Coast Guard at the number below the day of your plans to double check.
