    • [EXPIRED] Shoaling/Dredging in St. Lucie Inlet, near AICW Statute Mile 987

St. Lucie Inlet – Click for Chartview

Dredging has been underway in the St. Lucie Inlet (see /?p=129722) making navigation very challenging. St. Lucie Inlet intersects the Waterway and the eastern genesis of the Okeechobee Waterway near Stuart, FL at AICW Statute Mile 987.
Now that is appears the dredging project is complete, we have to wonder if the LNM report of shoaling below is outdated! Anyone have any late breaking info about depths in newly dredged St. Lucie Inlet?

FLORIDA ‘“ PALM SHORES TO WEST PALM BEACH ‘“ ST LUCIE INLET: Shoaling.
The Coast Guard has received a report of shoaling in the St Lucie Inlet on the green side of the channel between St Lucie Inlet Buoy 5 (LLNR 10125) and St Lucie Inlet Buoy 7 (LLNR 10135). Water depths at 5 feet have been reported. Mariners are advised to transit the area with extreme caution. Chart 11472 LNM:14/14

The dredging appears to have finished. There are still a few work boats and a barge or two near the southern inlet shore about a mile from the jetties, but the actual dredge has not been in the inlet for a few days.
