Valentine’s Day in Washington
Published on Feb 11, 2016 10:29 am
We love Washington throughout the year, but this weekend is special. For a weekend to remember you’ll need a place to stay, somewhere to dine, and things to do. Here are some of our suggestions to make it a perfect weekend getaway.
Diana Tuffin to perform at Turnage Theatre
The Turnage Theatre will host Diana Tuffin on Saturday night. Her sultry sounds will remind you of past greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington. You expect to have good glass of wine on Valentines, and Wine & Words on Main Street can make that happen. On Friday and Saturday they will be featuring Wines for Lovers during their tastings. On Sunday, South Market Antiques and Little Shoppes will celebrate Valentines with Champagne, Shopping and Chocolate from 1 to 4. What’s not to love? Of course, a walk on the waterfront to watch a sunset is a must (even if it is a little cool). You won’t be disappointed.
Make it a weekend getaway today by booking your hotel or bed and breakfast stay, even if just for one night. Washington’s Harbor District offers a number of great restaurants for your dining pleasure this weekend or any other.
