Wave Break Structures to be Added to Old House Channel, Pamlico Sound


Old House Channel connects Pamlico Sound and Roanoke Sound and forms the main/bridgeless, non-AICW northbound route into Manteo, NC. Please see Note C on Chart 12205 regarding frequently shifted navigation aids in these channels. These wave break structures should help reduce shoaling.

****NC – CAPE HENRY TO PAMLICO SOUND – OLD HOUSE CHANNEL – ESTABLISHMENT OF WAVE BREAK STRUCTURES****
On or about September 1, 2016, North Carolina Department of Transportation will be establishing three wave break structures. These structures
will be marked with white, slow flashing warning lights and daymarks in the following approximate positions.
Old House Channel Warning Light A, 36-45-17.3N, 075-35-13.7W, Fl W 2.5S, NW on pile
Old House Channel Warning Light B, 36-45-17.8N, 075-35-10.7W, Fl W 2.5S, NW on pile
Old House Channel Warning Light C, 36-45-17.1N, 075-35-07.8W, Fl W 2.5S, NW on pile
