      Happy Thanksgiving
We are Grateful for Our Supporters!

      Greetings E-News Subscribers,

We would like to extend our thanks to you all — the members and supporters of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway Association. We are filled with gratitude following our successful 20th Anniversary Annual Meeting and a special thanks to the presenters and participants who gathered together to discuss issues affecting the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW).

As I shared in my comments in Savannah, each of you carry an important VOICE of the Waterway and our mission is to serve the greater AIWW community by unifying that collective voice.
      Together we have

      1. The AIWA has worked over the past five years to secure funding and projects that has led to an over $50 million reduction in the Operations & Maintenance backlog for the AIWW while managing multiple hurricane impacts.

      2. We are building a strong coalition of Congressional support. In 2019, sixteen Congressional offices from six states joined a bipartisan, delegation letter asking for more funding that could be used for AIWW maintenance.

      3. In 2019, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has dredging projects occurring in every state along the waterway— the first time since the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the Stimulus Act).

      4. We represented the AIWW in meetings from New Jersey to Florida and presented at national and regional events all along the eastern seaboard focused on keeping the waterway a part of the national discussion.

      5. We worked with partners to extend our message. The American Shoreline Podcast Network joined us in Savannah and produced six podcasts while on-site in addition to two prior event episodes.  Here is a link to all the Live from the AIWA podcasts and more!

We are proud of these accomplishments, yet there is more work to be done and we need your voice. If you are supportive of our efforts and want to see them strengthen and grow, we ask you to join or renew your membership to the AIWA. An individual membership is less than a dime $.10 a day, and an Associate membership is less than $1 a day. Please visit Join AIWA Today!

      With our gratitude,

      Brad Pickel
