Coast Guard Station Oregon Inlet to host open house Saturday
NAGS HEAD, N.C. — The Coast Guard is inviting the public to attend an open house scheduled at Station Oregon Inlet in Nags Head, Saturday.
The gate is scheduled to be open to the public from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. to tour Coast Guard facilities and meet the Coast Guard men and women who work there, along with other federal, state and local agencies located on or near the Outer Banks.
Parking is free. The Coast Guard asks that bags be left in vehicles. No pets will be allowed and children under 12 must be accompanied by adults.
“We look forward to meeting you in person and hope to highlight the importance of safe boating before Memorial Day Weekend,” said Chief Petty Officer Joshua Perkins, surfman at the station. “We hope to meet lots of people and to provide Coast Guard and safety education to everyone who wants to come, not just the boating pubic.”
