The Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) is hosting a community outreach meeting this Thursday, January 17th, from 6:00-8:00pm at Casa Monica. This event is free and open to the pubic.

A little history… Originally constructed in 1925, the Bridge of Lions is a double-leaf bascule bridge that spans the Intracoastal Waterway in St. Augustine, Florida. The City has repeatedly requested the USCG to consider reducing the bridge opening schedule to reduce vehicle traffic congestion on A1A. The most recent attempt was made in 2017. The FIND Board objected to the proposed reduced opening schedule, and sent a letter to the USCG, the City of St Augustine, and FDOT stating their concerns for vessel safety.

Mr. Reuben Franklin, City of St. Augustine Mobility Coordinator, will present new proposed reductions initiated by the City of St. Augustine to improve traffic congestion in the area of the Bridge of Lions.
