Good afternoon,
Here are the programs scheduled so far for June. We may be adding a 1-3 more, and I will send out a separate announcement for any additions.
Something’s Fishy; Sat 06/02/2018
Auditorium – 2:00pm
It’s the Year of the Fish! Learn a little bit about the different species of fish that inhabit the swamp and about the Japanese art form Gyotaku, or fish-printing. Make your own fish print to take home. This will be a short (30-45 minute) indoor talk and craft activity.
Summer Paddle; Sat 06/09/2018 AND Sat 06/23/2018
Boat Launch – 10:30am
Join the ranger for a leisurely guided paddle along the historic Dismal Swamp Canal and beat the heat! Everything you need—kayak, paddle, PFD, and instruction—will be provided. You must pre-register by calling the office to reserve your spot. Limited to 8 boats.
Boardwalk Hike; Sun 06/24/2018
Visitor Center – 11:00am
Take a shaded walk along the beautiful Boardwalk with the park ranger. Look for birds and other wildlife and discover some of what the Swamp has to offer.
See you in the park!
