This dredge area is immediately north of Fernandina’s waterfront.
FLORIDA – AMELIA RIVER – FERNANDINA HARBOR: Maintenance Dredging.
Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, LLC (GLDD) anticipates commencing dredging operations of Fernandina Harbor Cut and Turning Basin in the Amelia River on or around October 1, until approximately November 20, 2020. Work is to be performed by CLAMSHELL DREDGE #58, Scows GL601, GL602, and will take place 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The excavated material will be transported to and placed in the Fernandina Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS). Mariners are urged to use extreme caution in the area of the dredge. Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made on Marine VHF channels 13 and 16. There will be a small survey vessel conducting surveys operations daily and will be crossing perpendicular to channel. Please pass survey vessels stern and provide a slow bell.
