The southbound Waterway enters the east side of Charleston Harbor and will almost certainly encounter this dredging activity and equipment at sometime during the 5 month project.

SOUTH CAROLINA – CHARLESTON HARBOR – WANDO RIVER: Dredge Operations
Weeks Marine will commence dredge operations approximately November 15, 2017 and continuing until approximately April 15, 2018. Clamshell Dredge Weeks #506, Tender ROBERT, scow barges (Weeks #257 and #264), and Crew Boat CAPTAIN PETE will be operating in the vicinity of the Lower Charleston Harbor and Wando River, South Carolina.
Dredge material will be dumped at the Charleston Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site bounded by the following approximate positions:
Lat 32° 39′ 55.600″ N Long 79° 45′ 04.200″ W
Lat 32° 38′ 34.700″ N Long 79° 42′ 09.100″ W
Lat 32° 37′ 38.700″ N Long 79° 46′ 34.600″ W
Lat 32° 36’ 16.800″ N Long 79° 43′ 39.700” W
Dredge operations will continue 24/7. The dredge and tugs will monitor marine VHF channel 16. Mariners are urged to use extreme caution and transit the area at their slowest safe speed to create minimum wake after passing arrangements have been made.
