The Waterway goes right through the Harbor race courses, so care must be used to navigate these waters during the races. Charleston Race Week is America’s Largest Regatta, over 300 sailboats, launched at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, A CRUISERS NET SPONSOR! Charleston Harbor Marina sits on the Mount Pleasant side of Charleston Harbor, hard by Patriots Point between Horse Reach’s flashing buoys #34 and #36.
MSIB 15-19 Charleston Race Week 2019 – Charleston Harbor
The Coast Guard is establishing a safety zone during Charleston Race Week 2019. Approximately 300 sailboats will be racing on five race courses in the Charleston Harbor. The safety zones will be enforced April 12, 2019 through April 14, 2019 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. All persons and vessels are prohibited from entering, transiting through, anchoring in, or remaining within the safety zones unless authorized by the Captain of the Port or a designated representative.
