[EXPIRED] LNM: Nav Aids Possibly Unreliable, Apalachicola River, Northern Gulf
Due to low water and storm damage, ATONS in the river may be unreliable. The Apalachicola River runs from Lake Seminole, on the Florida-Georgia border at Chattahoochee, 106 miles south through the Panhandle to the Gulf of Mexico, at the town of Apalachicola. The Jim Woodruff dam/lock is located at the northern entrance to the Apalachicola River in Chattahoochee, FL.
FL – APALACHICOLA RIVER – Channel Conditions
Due to low water on the Apalachicola River and past storm damage, the U.S. Coast Guard has been unable to regularly service aids to navigation below the Jim Woodruff Lock and Dam. U.S. Coast Guard ANT Eufaula anticipates returning to area once weather and river conditions allow. Mariners are urged to exercise extreme caution when transiting these waterways as the aids to navigation may not be reliable. Chart 11404 LNM 37/19
