SOUTH CAROLINA – CHARLESTON – ASHLEY RIVER: James Island Expressway (SC-30) Fender System Construction
A new protective fender system in the Ashley River is currently being constructed under the James Island Expressway (SC-30) near the SHM City of Charleston Marina. Starting on August 2, 2022 Marine traffic will be shifted to the west approximately 150 feet to utilize the new channel fender system with new lighting and clearance gauges. Demolition activities will continue in the general area to remove the old fender system which is currently scheduled to be complete by September 1, 2022.
