GEORGIA – ST. SIMONS SOUND: Safety Zone For M/V GOLDEN RAY.
A safety zone is currently established surrounding the M/V GOLDEN RAY at 31-07-39.66N / 081-24-10.58W (31°7.6610N / 081°24.1763W, 31.127683 / -81.402939), between Saint Simons lighthouse and the north end of Jekyll Island, in the vicinity of green buoy #19. No vessel is authorized access within 50 yards of established Environmental Protection Barrier (EPB) surrounding the M/V GOLDEN RAY wreck removal worksite, unless authorized by the Captain of the Port. The previous safety zone established on September 18th, 2019 is terminated. For further information, contact the Coast Guard at 912-652-4353. Until further notice, St Simons Sound Lighted Buoy 19 (LLNR 6140) has been temporarily relocated to position 31-07-38.072N/081-23-46.352W (31°7.6345N / 081°23.7725W, 31.127242 / -81.396209) due to the salvage operations of the M/V GOLDEN RAY.
