Black Bayou Bridge at ICW – Maintenance Closures (Update 1)

The Captain of the Port (COTP), Port Arthur advises vessels transiting via the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) through Black Bayou Bridge near GIWW mile marker 238 in Calcasieu Parish, LA of bridge closures as of December 15, 2017. Maintenance related closures are based on the need to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from hazards associated with the ongoing repair operations. Mariners are reminded to proceed with extreme caution.
The following scheduled effective dates are as follows:

Dec 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 0800-1900 Install tower and mechanical (bridge closed to marine traffic)
Dec 23 Demobilize (no impact to marine traffic),
