With a normal fixed vertical clearance of 64ft, the clearance will be reduced to 57ft. Our tall masted friends will need to adjust float plans during work hours, 9AM – 5PM.

NC – INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY NEW RIVER INLET TO CAPE FEAR

Mariners are advised that the bridge owner for the NC 210 Highway Bridge over Intracoastal Waterway, mile 252.5, at Topsail Beach, NC has requested temporary reductions in the vertical and horizontal navigation clearances in the navigation span of the bridge to conduct maintenance on the superstructure. Bridge maintenance will be performed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, from February 13, 2023, through March 23, 2023.
During work hours, the vertical navigation clearance will be reduced approximately 7 feet to approximately 57 feet above mean high water and the horizontal navigation clearance will be reduced approximately 3 feet to approximately 87 feet. There will be no reduction in navigation clearances of the bridge outside of work hours. Vessels that can safely transit the bridge during work hours with the reduced navigation clearances may do so at any time. Emergency vessels that need to transit the bridge and require the temporary reductions in navigation clearances to be removed from the navigation span, may do so if at least 15 minutes notice is given to the transportation supervisor. All non-emergency vessels that cannot safely transit the bridge with the temporary reductions in the vertical and horizontal navigation clearances in the navigation span of the bridge should adjust their transit plan and avoid transiting the bridge during work hours. Non-emergency vessels that cannot safely transit the bridge with the temporary reductions in the vertical and horizontal navigation clearances in the navigation span of the bridge that are unable to adjust their transit plan to transit the bridge outside of work hours, may transit the bridge if at least 1 hour notice is given to the transportation supervisor. The transportation supervisor may be contacted on VHF-FM channel 13 and (910) 714-8098. All mariners should use caution when transiting the area.
