A Proposed Rule by the Coast Guard on 03/13/2017
The Coast Guard proposes to establish a temporary safety zone on certain waters of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This proposed safety zone is necessary to provide for the safety of the swimmers, participant vessels, spectators, and the general public during the swim portion of the Xterra Triathalon. This rule is intended to prohibit non-participant vessels and persons from entering, transiting through, anchoring in, or remaining within the safety zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Charleston or a designated representative.
The temporary safety zone consists of the following two points of position and the North shore: 33°45.076 N., 78°50.790 W. to 33°45.323 N., 78°50.214 W
