[EXPIRED]Seven Seas Cruising Association Gam, Nov 10-12, 2017, Melbourne, FL
The Seven Seas Cruising Association has long been a strong advocate for boaters’ rights, especially the right to anchor without undue restrictions.
On November 10-12 SSCA will host a Gam in Melbourne, Florida. Way back when whalers sailed the seas, they would sometimes meet in the “middle” of a distant ocean. If the weather allowed, sails would be furled allowing the ships to drift within hailing distance. Those on the outgoing vessel would shout news of friends and family back in New England as well as send news to those back home. That was a Gam.
For many years SSCA has called their meet-ups Gams and a number are held along the East Coast each summer and fall. The largest of these is the Melbourne Gam coming up in just a few weeks. A Gam is the perfect way to learn more about SSCA and to meet fellow cruisers, both first timers and those with years of experience. Non-members are welcome. In fact this is where folks can ask questions, learn, and discover whether the cruising lifestyle may be right for them.

We welcome you and your friends to the Melbourne Gam. It’s a great opportunity and a great start to your next cruise—whether that next one is your first or your twenty-first.
Those going by boat can anchor in Melbourne and take the dinghy to the Gam. See you there!
The anchorage is on the north side of the bridge, west side of ICW, off the restaurant Squid Lips. The dock is right by Squid Lips. The Eau Gallie Library is right next door where the Thurs. Going South gathering is and then everyone goes to Squid Lips right on the water.
Thank you,
