Friday’s Waterway travelers encountered an unusual sight on the northern edge of the channel when passing Charleston’s Battery. See Sunken Work Vessel for details. As of this morning, 4/13, the sunken barge has been recovered and the salvage equipment removed. See below. Our thanks to Officer Justin Heck for this notice.

CHARLESTON, SC
UPDATE: Navigation Alert related to sunken vessel in the Ashley River is hereby removed.
The work boat was successfully recovered from the waterway and all salvage equipment has been removed from the area.
