    • [EXPIRED] New Marina in Pascagoula, Mississippi

Any new marina catering to cruising craft, particularly between Mobile Bay and New Orleans is very welcome. In the aftermath of Katrina, the dockage situation west of Mobile Bay is still iffy at best.

For cruiser's bound from Mobile west, there is a reported shortage of marina space in the aftermath of Katrina, so thought I'd report on a new marina on the Pascagoula/Escatawpa River. The location is described in cruising guides as O'leary lake. It is in downtown Moss Point, MS. The marina's name is River City Harbor and they are open but still under construction. The marina has floating docks, water, elec., gas, diesel(high speed pumps) and pumpout. They can accomodate any size boat and welcome transients and liveaboards. They have a full service restaurant and dive shop plus some dry storage for smaller boats. The plan to have 200+ inwater slips when completed and have the first 50 slips open now. It is about 15 miles or so north of the GIW up the Pascagoula & Escatawpa rivers, but is a good stop. It is only 15 miles by car from Biloxi's casino row and about 90 miles from New Orleans. Call (228)-475-9200 for more info on the marina.
