      Port Royal Landing Marina Staff
      Captain Mike Allen, Operations Manager– Mike grew up in eastern Virginia and North Carolina. His family was associated with wood products industries and much of his youth was spent on North Carolina’s coast. He graduated from North Carolina State University, Bachelor of Science in Wood Science and Technology focus area Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, he spent eight years on active duty in the USAF. He was stationed at Seymour Johnson, Moody and Myrtle Beach Air Force Bases. While stationed at Moody, he met his sweetheart in a post graduate math class. They were married shortly after. The two have one son, Stephan, his wife Michele and two wonderful grandchildren. After the Air Force, he worked in wood products and the chemical industry where he found his calling as teacher. Afterwards Mike taught public high school physics, PLTW Engineering Courses, and the occasional College Physics Lab for the University of South Carolina. He received his Masters of Education Degree in Science Education and a Masters plus 30 Hours Certificate. He retired from the Beaufort County School District in 2013. Mike has a USCG Captain’s Master’s license for vessels up to 100gt. He has traveled the Atlantic ICW from Daytona, FL to Wilmington, NC in the summers with his wife and their `critters’. Mike believes that marina patrons deserve quality services and will do his best to make your stay at PRLM an enjoyable one.
      Jeff Beck, Dockhand– Jeff is a native of Beaufort and enjoys coastal life. He is home schooled and will be finishing up his high school studies in 2015. He and his family are members of the Community Bible Church in Beaufort. One of his favorite hobbies is taking a ride on his jet ski on the many creeks, rivers and sounds that the Beaufort area has to offer. He also has his own landscaping business which he focuses on when not studying or working at the marina. Jeff will do all he can to make sure you are treated well.
      Captain Michele Clark, Dockhand– Michele was born and raised in Charleston, SC close to the Stono River. After high school she joined the Air Force and flew as a Flight Medic on a C141 for 8 years. The Air Force took her all over the United States and Europe. She served at Rhein Mein AFB, Germany during the height of the Gulf War and is a Dessert Storm Veteran. Michele has over 20 years of boating experience and has lived aboard her boat with her husband, Gene, and daughter, Alex for almost 18 years, 10 of these years at Port Royal Landing Marina. She has a 50 ton Captain’s license, does Nature Cruises on a resort Island, works as a Yacht Broker, and also volunteers as the Vessel Safety Check Officer for the Beaufort Sail and Power Squadron. Having recently become a `Land Lubber’, she enjoys working on the docks and talking to people about boating and wants every boater that comes to Port Royal Landing Marina to have a positive and fun experience.
      Whit Fanning, Dockhand– Whit is a native of Beaufort. He grew up exploring the rivers and creeks by boat throughout the low country. His family has ownership interests in several island `Fish Camps’ where family and friends go by boat to stay and enjoy. Whit will be happy to tell you more about life at a fish camp if you ask him. Whit is in high school at Beaufort High and plays on the Golf team there. He looks forward to helping you with anything that you may need during your stay with us.
      William Lindsay, Dockhand– William is a native of Beaufort, so saltwater runs through his veins. He loves boating, fishing and all that the South Carolina Low country has to offer. We have watched William grow up as his parents and grandparents have had boats at our marina for many years now. William is in high school at Beaufort Academy and enjoys being on the tennis team there. William will focus on making sure you feel at home during your stay with us.
      Brooks Salley, Accounting– Brooks and her husband Rion moved to Beaufort in 2002, and she joined the family business in the fall of 2008. Brooks graduated from The College of Charleston with a degree in Business Administration. Her background is in fundraising, special events planning, and banking. You will see her in and out of the marina with her quickly growing little ones often following close behind her.
      Rion Salley, CMM, G.M.– Rion was born and raised in Orangeburg, SC and he has always called South Carolina home. He and his wife Brooks have a daughter named Bryant (8) and a son named Wilson (5). He and Brooks are members of the Parish Church of St. Helena in Beaufort. He is a graduate of The Citadel and recently received his Certified Marina Manager designation. Rion has worked in real estate, financial services, and insurance- including boat insurance, but he has found his calling in the marina industry. He is dedicated to making sure that you are treated well and you have a great experience during your stay with us.
      Leigh Ward, Admin/Dockhand– Leigh and her husband, Jason, moved to Beaufort in 2007. She has participated part-time in the family business since then. Leigh and Jason are proud parents to Jackson, Hannah, and Jacob. They are her primary (and full-time) job. Leigh graduated from The College of Charleston with a degree in International Business and Logistics. She has spent time doing human resources and administrative work for a construction and trucking company. Stop her on the docks and say hello. She is always eager to help our customers enjoy their time on the water.
      Tom Wilson, CMM, President/Owner– Tom has owned Port Royal Landing Marina since 1992. He has a deep love for the salt water, boats, and the S.C. coast, which led him to acquire Mariners Cay Marina in Charleston. Tom retired from 28 years in road construction in 2002 and he and his wife, Kay moved to Beaufort from Augusta, Ga. He is around the marina some days, and it is clear that the value and quality of the services you receive are most important to him
