Summer Festival 2016

June 10-11 ~ School is almost out, the weather is warming up, boats are ready for the water. You know what that means? It’s time for the annual Washington Summer Festival in downtown Washington. The Summer Festival will be June 10-11, 2016. Besides festival food, vendors, and artists, you will also enjoy The Embers featuring Craig Woolard, fireworks, and so much more. African American History Tour

June 18th ~ Hear history interpreted during this walk through Washington’s historic district. Guide Leesa Jones will share African American history of Washington and the Pamlico. This fascinating history led to the creation of the Underground Railroad Museum in downtown Washington inside the Atlantic Coastline Caboose. Washington recently became listed on the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom passport for the National Park Service. Learn more here.

AACA Car Show

June 18th ~ The annual AACA Car Show will return to Washington’s downtown waterfront this month. Come and reminisce while admiring the restorations and originals the owners take such pride in. And, perhaps you, too, will notice that the classics are as old as they used to be! Learn more here.
