Bridge Closures – Albemarle & Chesapeake Canal
The Centerville Turnpike Bridge and the North Landing Bridge (Mt. Pleasant Road) across the Albemarle & Chesapeake Canal / Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway are closed to marine traffic due to flooding, according to notifications from the City of Chesapeake and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The closures are expected to continue for several days until wind directions shift and flooding recedes.
This office will send out another bulletin once the operators of both bridges report that they are open to marine traffic.
