[EXPIRED] NAV ALERT: Waccamaw River at Flood Stage, Socastee, SC AICW Statute Mile 371
Our thanks to Capt Bobby Gregory of Intracoastal Yacht Sales, A CRUISERS NET SPONSOR, for this report and reminder to keep your wake at a minimum when passing through the narrow ICW in Socastee, SC. Not only must you reduce your wake, but you must keep a sharp watch for floating and submerged debris bought out by flooding. See Socastee Still Rebuilding.
On a southbound voyage on Tuesday 2-18-20 the following observations were taken on the ICW – Beware of substantial flooding from heavy rains in the Socastee area between SM 370 down to Enterprise Landing near SM 375. Mariners should proceed at minimum wakes to prevent further damage to homes that are already suffering from the high water.
