Tropical Storm Alert
I hope everyone is getting ready for a great weekend. We have been busy readying the marina for all to enjoy.
We want everyone to enjoy the weekend and all the fun festivities, but please keep an eye on the weather reports each day concerning Tropical Storm Elsa. Now, the current track has the storm heading towards Florida and making landfall but be mindful of the track. Realize every storm that comes into the Caribbean always makes a turn somewhere and the National Hurricane Center is taking this into consideration as the projected path is quite wide. It’s pretty divided on the path, as many tracks show a westerly trend and just as many show an easterly. As of 0800 Friday morning, the GFS (American) track model has a westerly trend. The CMC (Canadian) track model has an easterly. Both are good models to use, but as we all know, predicting the weather is like going to Vegas, sometimes you’re lucky, sometimes your broke.
Ultimately, as of this morning, we will receive some type of weather from Elsa, either a storm or the remnants broken apart from landfall. Expectations of arrival of either would be 6-7 days from now.
Please take the time to enjoy your July 4th Holiday. But when you leave, make sure your boat is secured for heavy weather. Some may call me a Storm Alarmist, but that is my job and being prepared helps protect each of you.
Happy 4th of July!
