Both LKM [Lightkeepers Marina] and MBYC are very good stops. I favor Light Keepers mostly because I am a member there. But there are really good folks at both places. James Blanton is the dock master at LKM. He is always accommodating for transients and renters. Ask him about monthly rentals. We have some great pricing this summer. The Officers Club at MBYC has a very nice informal food. Good cruisers talk going on there all the time. Clarks, right next door is more upscale and is really good also. LKM also has pump out available. Pools at both places. West Marine about 3 miles away. Food shopping about 2 miles. Very laid back nice stop over whichever you choose.

We stayed at LKs in April 2013. We were blown away by the friendliness and hospitality of James and the locals. James arranged an appointment when my cat needed a vet, plus dropped me off and picked me up. The marina was cute, clean and you won’t beat the price. We draw 6’9″ and had absolutely no problem getting in.

Floating docks, climate controlled bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities. On site pool. 1 1/2 mile boardwalk around the harbor. Friendly and welcoming dock master, James and assistant Bob. Two restaurants within the harbor. Clarks (formerly Umbertos) and Jug Handle Inn of the South (formerly the Officers Club.) Waffle House, Dunkin Donuts and Sunnyside Grill within walking distance.

We have kept our boat at Lightkeepers Marina, Little River, SC many times. Coquina Harbor, it’s basically the North Myrtle Beach area. http://www.lightkeepersmarina.com/
Floating docks, quiet and secure with great rates, phone James the Dockmaster for their best rates. Phone 843 249 8660. Tell them the Aussies told you to call. We’re here at the moment on our boat and plan on staying until mid January, maybe longer.

I have a condo at Coquina Harbor. Depths have been good since the dredging of the harbor was completed. I have a shallow draft boat, but I asked the owner of a 6.5 foot draft sailboat that stays here how he found depths throughout the harbor. He said he had seen nothing less that 7.5 feet at low tide. This inquiry was made 9/04/09. I came through the entrance at high tide on 9/05/09 and my depth sounder indicated 14.5 feet. When I really want to reward myself, I have pork chop at Umburto’s.
