Had not originally planned to stop in Georgetown, but mechanical issues dictated otherwise. So glad we did. Harborwalk is an excellent marina and is situated within walking distance of the downtown area and many wonderful restaurants. Facilities are very clean and among the best you'll find on the ICW. Staff is friendly and helpful. Thanks especially to Lexie for her hospitality. We would definitely stay there again.
I had very accommodating service from Lexi at Harborwalk Marina. She stayed after hours to assist myself and another cruiser and provided excellent instructions on how to enter the harbor, prepare the boat for tie off and access the dock slip on the inside of their marina. The marina facilities were exceptionally clean and in “like new” condition. Rates were reasonable and the nearby restaurants were welcoming. Cruiser’s Net guest will not be disappointed.

Stopped in on our way north after visiting Charleston. Had not visited in awhile but can say Georgetown has not let a fire slow them down. Great biking and walking along the tree lined streets. We remember this marina when they were a service station and boat lift. Now they have a new shower facility and great floating docks plus expansion plans. First Class all the way – town and marina. Friendly people.
Chris Carroll, manager of the Georgetown Harbor Walk Marina, is a pro at line handling and people handling. A truly historic and gracious stop. Be sure to tour the local museum and have dinner at the Rice Paddy Restaurant. We rate both the restaurant and the marina as among the best on the AICW from Norfolk to Florida.

Stayed at Harbour Walk Marina several time with our yacht club cruises. Great place and right in the historic district for an easy walk downtown. Ate at the Rice Paddy Restaurant, but there are several others close by.

Stayed there [Harborwalk Marina] 4/26 and 427/13. Good floating docks but fixed docks need replacing (waiting on permits to replace with floating). Nice shore facilities, very nice town, some good restaurants (try Limp’in Jane’s and Aunnies), good stores and shops. Grocery will send car but is only a nice walk anyway. Interesting history, take tour and see rice museum. Will stop here again in future.

We have stayed at the Harborwalk Marina the last two trips South. Nice facility. We like the city of Georgetown as well. We’ve eaten at a couple of the restaurants but at the moment can’t remember the names. Will add them as we head North next week from FL and I look at our logs.

We have spent the last 2 winters in GT, SC and can tell anyone and everyone you will not find a better place in SC to visit. Harborwalk Marina is on the south end of the boardwalk. The Dock master is Chris and his assistant is Steve. Both are top shelf guys that really know the marina and cruisers business. You can walk to most all eat places as you are right on front street when you get off the dock. There is a large park a few blocks away.

Cruising News:
While visiting Georgetown, SC we had lunch at a delightful restaurant named Reflections Cafe. Great burger with a large choice of toppings. Highly recommend this eatery. Also we found Harborwalk Marina to be very friendly with very good accommodations.

Jim and I spent a month at Harborwalk on our way north this summer and are now here for a few days on our way back to Florida. The marina is small but the service from Chris and Steve is top-notch. Everything is maintained very well, from the office to the rest rooms, the laundry area and the docks. All of it is always clean and tidy. Very convenient location – step off your boat and in less than a minute you’re in downtown Georgetown. Walk a couple of minutes in the other direction and you can buy shrimp fresh of the boats. Georgetown and Harborwalk are both on our “places to stop at again” list. And if you’re here for a couple of days, be sure book a spot on Captain Rod’s Low Country Tour boat and go shelling at the beach!
We stayed there for 3 months in the winter and have stayed there several times before. They are great, Chris is a real Pro. He always goes the extra mile to help everyone. There are several really good marinas in GT but we switched to Harborwalk because of service and location. Don’t let one guy that had a bad day desuade you from staying at HW. See you in the winter Chris!

We were in Georgetown for one week. We anchored our cat in the harbor and dinghied over to Harborwalk Marina to use their laundry and shower facilities. Chris was very friendly and helpful. The night before our departure, we stayed on the face dock– fueled/filled our water tank, and once again used the very nice laundry/bath facilities. We were overall very pleased until the day of our departure. We had made prior arrangements with Chris to stay until late afternoon (my husband works from the boat and needed wi-fi. ) Around lunchtime that day, the dockmaster, Dave inquired about our departure time and I informed him of our arrangement. He was not very friendly about our staying past noon– We felt very pressured by him to leave and it really put a negative spin on an otherwise pleasant experience. We totally understand that dock spaces can at times be limited, but Dave’s attitude made us believe he simply wanted us “off the dock”. We would consider staying here again, but will be more careful about verifying “check – out” times.
Harborwalk Marina in Georgetown SC. We second the recommendation below. We were going south TG week and ran into a mechicanal issue as we were docking for 2 nights at Harborwalk. Chris and Mike arranged to get us a tech we could trust to correct our problems. We had to order parts, (1 week to get in) so we arranged a good monthly rate with Chris and enjoyed TG week in GT and returned home by car. Our boat remains there until Jan. Everyone at the marina is first class. Very dog friendly marina and town. We could easily stay there for an entire season and be happy. Just steps to all the downtown amenties but very laid back.

Stayed in Georgetown for 4 nights waiting for our autopilot to arrive from Defender. Mike and Chris at Harborwalk Marina could not be nicer. We paid for showers (we were anchored), bought our gas from them along with ice. We would come back to this town again and again. Nice places to eat, shop, provision and it is safe to keep the boat.
In Georgetown dined well at the River Room and Thomas’s. Great new floating docks at Harborwalk Marina.

Harborwalk Marina, Georgetown – had another great trip to Georgetown a month ago. The marina is in perfect condition, with incredible service (we arrived late and they waited for us and had three dock hands to assist with a an easy landing. Excellent facilities at this marina, in fact the cleanest restrooms and laundry I’ve found yet! New docks and a great view of downtown. We were amazed at the recently redone boardwalk all along the harborside. Did a lot of exploring of the Georgetown area on bike and had two great meals, one at Portofino and the other at our favorite Rice Paddy.

We just stayed at Harborwalk Marina in Georgetown, SC and found it newly renovated… great showers and laundry. Low tide is a trip coming in – stay to starboard after the entry marker and hug the docks. At Harbor Walk Marina depth is around 6.5 ft. at the inner most dock at low tide. Outside and finger docks have plenty of water even at a dead low tide.

Docked here today, the facilities are great! Short walk to numerous restaurants.
The marina now has a new laundry facility that also houses two bathrooms. I believe it is climate controlled. My boat was moored in the innermost dock and am in 10 feet of water. Nice floating docks. Chris, the dockmaster who assisted me, was very helpful. This is the closest marina to downtown Georgetown, a couple blocks closer than the Boat Shed and Hazard Marine. For some reason, there were no seats in the bathrooms when I showered. It was only after I left that I noticed two plastic seats on the porch that should have been in the bathrooms for changing.
9/16/09 – Staying the night here at Harborwalk. Nice floating docks AND the climate controlled new restrooms/showers are open and very nice. Two washers ($1.50) and two driers ($1.50). Dock fee is $1.75/ft.
Subject: Georgetown – New floating docks
Cruising News: My name is Chris Carroll. I am the Operations Mgr. for the Harborwalk Marina in Georgetown SC. I wanted to let everyone know that our much promised floating docks have been installed and are now in operation. We now have wireless internet, 100 channels of cable TV, 100amp service, a pump out that will suck the bottom out of your boat. There are about 729 feet of new floating dock, we have plenty of space now. Starting in two weeks will begin a new face lift on our older docks that we did not take out. Plans are being drawn now for a new 1800 sq foot bath house, lounge, dock office and laundry facility that we hope to have in by the fall season. We appreciate the patience everyone has had during our construction phases. Our dock master, David Rowe, is still with us. So gives a call and make a reservation today. 843-546-4250.

Georgetown: Our favorite restaurant, Orange Blossom is closed. We were sorry to hear that the owner had a bad car accident and has returned to Greece. We highly recommend planning to be in Georgetown on anything but a Sunday. Most everything seems to be closed on Sundays. There is a nice looking store for provisioning – it looks like a wine shop, but there is fresh produce in the back. It’s on the main road, maybe a block towards town from Harborwalk Marina.
Harborwalk Marina has brand new docks; there is a big floating face dock and it is only a few steps from downtown. Free wifi. Courteous service. There are no toilets or showers as they are in the process of building them. We tried to hail Hazzard Marine, a place we have stayed at before but there was no answer on the phone and no answers to our VHF hails.
